A Home Security Device for Both Security and Privacy
Today’s homes use a myriad of systems for protection. An alarm is considered a basic home security device, as is a video camera. One of the newest types of security devices to gain popularity is drive way alarms. They are especially effective for homes with driveways that are not visible from the house. For those homeowners with especially large properties, wireless alarms are available that can transmit up to two miles.
Alarms for your driveway are designed to alert you in your home when a car or person enters your property. They provide a nice measure of convenience and privacy as well as safety, since they ensure that no one can ring your doorbell and catch you by surprise.
What About False Alarms?
The only real disadvantage to a drive way alarm is that animals can often trip them, so it is important to identify the correct type of alarm for your needs. If you live in a wooded area where there are lots of creatures roaming around, you probably don’t want an alarm that operates off a simple motion detector. You are probably better off to have an alarm that is tripped by driving over it with a vehicle.
However, motion detector alarms are great if you don’t have a lot of animals around, as they can also notify you when someone enters your property on foot. One great advantage of a driveway alarm is that they can be connected to your outside security lights, turning on lights to guide your visitors whenever the alarm is tripped.
Most home security companies can offer you multiple types of driveway alarms, and can help you pick one that will suit your needs. Most of them are simple to install, and are relatively inexpensive, allowing you an extra measure of protection for your home, without a lot of added cost.
